They are a superhero team of super powered and gifted mutants trained to protect humanity and to prove that mutants can also be heroes.
Led by Professor Charlees Xavier, devoting his Westchester mansion as a haven and training grounds for the young mutants to develop and control their powers.
X men’s original team consists of Storm, Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops, Beast, Rogue, Jubilee, Shadowcat, Gambit, Angel, Iceman, and Colossus. Their name, X men is often mistaken to be taken from their mentor, Professor X’s name, but it is actually from the gene that created mutants, the X Gene.
Created by Stand Lee and Jack Kirby, the Xmen debuted in X men comics #1 in September 1963, where their archenemy Magneto and his brotherhood of mutants were also introduced.
Published by Marvel comics, X men comic book series takes in themes of sci fi fantasy and a fast paced action to battle against different threats, including those of their own kind. An X men graphic novel was also released in later issues.
